The Ph.D. program in Cellular Biology & Anatomy provides our students with the training that will allow them to develop a research career in a setting of their choosing, whether in academia in a University/Medical School setting or in an Industrial/Pharmaceutical Research setting. The state-of-the-art research programs of our faculty explore basic and translational research studies in areas such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, epilepsy, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and diabetic complications. The trainees from our program have moved on to pursue research careers at outstanding institutions around the world. For those candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in academia, the training in the Anatomical Sciences enables our graduates to participate in teaching in a Medical School Curriculum.
