Kevin Lin received his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1995-1999), and his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Pharmacology (2002-2007). He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Miami’s Cerebral Vascular Disease Research Center (2007-2012), and continued as a Research Assistant Professor. He currently holds the Joanna G. Magale Endowed Professorship in Neurology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA. He currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor and is the Director of the Stroke Center for Research and Associate Director for the Center for Brain Health. Dr. Lin currently investigates fatty acids as it relates to stroke and cardiac arrest. His expertise is in in vivo imaging of brain vasculature using two-photon laser scanning microscopy to study the neurovasculature. His studies have been continuously funded by the American Heart Association, National Institutes of Health, and pharmaceutical companies.
